The Estates Bears 4-H club is having a fundraiser at North Naples Baptist Church on Saturday October 23 from 4:00-8:00 p.m. They are having a steak dinner, vegetable, potato, salad, roll and drink for $10.00. If interested call Belynda Williams 825-8431 for ticket information.




The Florida State Fair is introducing an exciting new competition
for ALL Florida 4-H Clubs and FFA Chapters –
“4-H/FFA Agricultural Exhibit Competition”.
The goal of these exhibits is to create overall State awareness and to educate our Fair visitors on
how each of Florida’s 67 counties contributes to the overall assets, resources and economy of the
State.
RULES
1. FFA Chapters or 4-H Clubs must pre-enter by December 3, 2010.
2. All entries must submit a sketch/diagram of decoration and theme.
3. Entries will be judged and up to 10 exhibits will be invited to participate.
4. Chapters/Clubs will be notified by email if they have been selected to participate by December
17th.
5. The Florida State Fair will provide a 10 x 15 space in the Florida Center to decorate.
6. Entries will be judged on eye appeal, construction, use of materials, and creativity.
7. Exhibits may be decorated February 5th, 7th, 8th and 9th. Entries will be judged Thursday, February
10, 2011. The exhibits should be decorated with a good clean wholesome nature. No vulgar or
suggestive decorations will be allowed. Showcase your Club/Chapter, your county, your
commodity groups in your area, etc. Please call the Florida State Fair office with any questions

8. NO Commercial or Political party signs of ANY KIND are allowed.
9. Decorations may not be removed from exhibits before Monday February 21st at 9:00 p.m.
Decorations not removed on Tuesday, February 22nd will be discarded.

Officer Training
Thursday, October 14th at 6:30 p.m. County Council elections will also take place.


Columbus Day Parade
Saturday, October 16th We will have a float in the parade and we need 4-H youth and volunteers to come and ride on the float, if you can come please RSVP by Friday. You can call the office at 353-4244 or the 4-H cell phone 601-1169 and let Marie or Trisha know.


Leaders Meeting
The Leaders meeting is on October 21st at 6:30 p.m. If we have not received your club enrollment please bring it to the meeting.


Steer Weigh-in
The steer weigh-in for the Fair is Friday October 15th from 6:00-8:00 p.m.


Community Pride
Community pride applications are due Friday, October 15th


Scarecrow Contest
The 4-H Collier County Livestock show is having a scarecrow contest and would like to invite all 4-H clubs to participate, you can bring your scarecrow to the leaders meeting on the 21st, or drop them off on the 18th between 6:30-8:00 p.m. The scarecrows will be displayed at the Fall Festival and the Yard and Garden show.


4-H Livestock Meeting
October 18th at 7:00 p.m.


Fall Festival
The Fall Festival and Community yard sale will be held on October 23 from 9:00a.m.-3:00 p.m.
at the Roberts Ranch Museum in Immokalee. There will be food, games, hay rides, cake walks, bake sale, pumpkins and much more. You can rent a yard sale space for $10.00 and sell some of the things that you would like to get rid of and make yourself some extra money. For more information or to rent a space call 239-280-8378.

Shooting Sports Training
If you would like to go to the shooting sports training to get certified to teach a discipline in your club or help us in our shooting sports club we need to know by Tuesday, October the 19th so we can get the registration in. The shooting sports training will be November the 12th-14th at Camp Cloverleaf. It will start at 6:00 p.m on the 12th and end at 1:30 p.m. on the 14th.


Turkey Shoot
October 30th from 9:00 a.m.- 12:00 p.m. Behind the Corkscrew Baptist Church at 22022 Immokalee Road. Bring your own bows and arrows, if you don't have a bow and would like to participate we will have one that you can use. The cost is $5.oo , each round purchased will enter a prize drawing. Gross Walk
The CCF Junior Fair board presents "The Gross Walk" A Haunted Walk to to benefit Cheryl Gross, a CCF board member with stage 4 melanoma. The Gross walk will be held on October the 27th - 31st. Tickets are 1 for $5.oo or 5 for $20.00. There will be a haunted walk, games, crafts, a hay ride. There will be a trunk or treat and costume contest Halloween night, and a pumpkin patch October the 23-31st.


Yard and Garden Show
The Yard and garden show is on October the 30th and 31st, we need 4-H youth to come and help carry plants to the cars, we will also have a 4-H tent set up where we will be selling fresh produce. If you are planning on helping with this event call us and sign up so we can make sure that all time spots are filled.

Block and Bridle Beef Show Clinic
Saturday, November 20th, from 9:00am-4:00pm. An excellent opportunity for exhibitors from the ages of 8-16 to learn the basics of showing beef cattle in a hands on clinic. If you have youth interested in attending this clinic contact Trisha or Marie for more information.

Officer Training
Officer Training will be held on October 14th at 6:30 p.m. If you hold an office in your club or if you are interested in learning what is involved in holding an office, this is a great training to attend.

Remember the Yard and Garden show on on October the 30 an 31. We need 4-H youth to volunteer to carry plants to the cars for people, and we could use help in our 4-H booth.

Swine weigh-in for the 4-H Livestock show is this Saturday, I hope everyone has their pig.
