We have a lot of events coming up in the next few months make sure you mark your calendars now so that you will be able to attend.
Anni has started a new blog, if you have postings that you would like to go on it you can send them to Anni for approval at annig@ufl.edu the blog is at www.colliercounty4h.blogspot.com if you save this to your favorites it will be easy to check for updates when on your computer.
We have some new and exciting 4-H projects coming up; if you are interested in learning about Land Judging, Horticulture Judging, Urban Farming, or Forensic Entomology please contact us so that we can make sure that we get the information to you.
Fair Livestock meeting is on March 9th at 6:30 pm.
The 4-H Livestock meeting is on March 15th at 7:00 pm.
We will have a record book training meeting on March 23rd at 6:30 pm.
On April the 3rd Cindy Kinard will be coming to the Extension office for a poultry workshop, it will start at 9:00 and last until 2:00. The youth going to CWF are selling lunch as a fundraiser to help with their trip to Washington.
On March 27th there will be a poultry show in Arcadia at the Turner Center, If you would like to enter this show you can contact Tom Carry at 352-344-8204 or Valerie at 813-626-0066 and they will send you the info, or if you would like you can just go watch the show. Cindy had said they might have a few chickens for sale at the show. She also said at the end of April or the first of May they will have a poultry sale in Arcadia, she will let us know the date when it is finalized.
On May 8th we will have an Ethics workshop here at the Extension office from 9:00 -12:00. It is mandatory that every child who shows an animal in 4-H this year completes this workshop, it doesn’t matter if you show in the 4-H Livestock Show or the Fair.
The time and date for the leader training will be announced, make sure you keep a check on the blog for more information on upcoming events.
